The Windows 95 shared folders update is intended for those users who
are running Microsoft Exchange but need to access their Microsoft Mail
shared folders. The Microsoft Mail information service that ships
with Windows 95 does not allow users to access shared folders.
FIRST, MAKE SURE YOU EXIT AND LOG OFF FROM MICROSOFT EXCHANGE.
To install the Windows 95 shared folder update:
1. Change to the current directory containing this readme file.
2. Type "install". This will replace the Microsoft Mail service
provider and make the necessary changes to your MAPISVC.INF.
3. Go to Control Panel, and then double-click the Mail And Fax
icon.
4. Remove the Microsoft Mail information service from your
profile by selecting it from the list and choosing Remove.
5. Add the Microsoft Mail information service by choosing Add,
then choosing Microsoft Mail from the list of services that
you can add. The Microsoft Mail configuration pages appear.
6. On the Connection page, type the path to your Microsoft Mail
postoffice in the Edit box. If you were previously using
Microsoft Mail, the path will be entered for you.
Click the Logon tab.
7. Type your mailbox and password in the appropriate boxes. If
you were previously using Microsoft Mail, the names will be
entered for you. Select the When Logging On, Automatically
Enter Password check box.
8. Click OK to add the service, then click OK again to save the
changes to your profile. The next time you run Microsoft
Exchange, you will see the Microsoft Mail Shared Folders store
appear in the left pane of the main viewer.
